Myrtle Beach Real Estate Market is booming. The number of gated neighborhoods and planned communities being developed is mushrooming, with choices in all price-ranges, views and other amenities.
Long considered the ultimate group golf vacation destination, Myrtle Beach has recently been ranked as #2 in the country by U.S. Housing Markets in its “Hotness” Index. One of the 15 fastest growing areas in the nation, Myrtle Beach’s population has grown by over 40 percent in the last decade and is expected to double again in the next 20 years. Obviously the great vacation opportunities of Myrtle Beach have been trumpeted for years, but the secret is now out that if the Myrtle Beach area is so great a-week-at-a-time, imagine how spectacular it would be EVERY week.
With the long-entrenched emphasis on tourist travel, gated
golf communities have been slower in coming than in some other Great
Golf Communities. But if you know one thing about people on the Grand
Strand, it’s that they don’t like finishing 2nd to anyone at anything.
The number of gated neighborhoods and planned communities being
developed is mushrooming, with choices in all price-ranges, views and
other amenities. The most obvious amenity is the coastal climate, with
average winter highs in the upper-50’s and thanks to the sea breezes,
summer highs rarely top 90-degrees. During the summer months, the ocean
water along the Grand Strand is about 20-degrees warmer than along the
New York beaches. Myrtle Beach can also offer something Florida
communities cannot—seasons.
Myrtle Beach stopped being a “beach town” a long time ago. Its
combination of services and amenities ranks with many, much larger
communities. Yet its easygoing Southern ways and comfortable year-round
climate have carved a singular niche in the market of great golf
communities.
